Titus Andronicus
Known as, “The Most Lamentable Tragedy”, William Shakespeare’s Titus Andronicus proves to be a story centered around revenge, power, honour, and wealth. These archetypal themes were a jumping point to creating a costume design that gilded in high fashon silhouettes for an evocative design. A focus within this project was to see the projection of wealth that is thrust upon the goths, and the transitions and changes that the characters go through within the script. Not just wealth but the utmost gilded, glamorous wealth was the inspiration behind the script's most powerful characters. Finding these moments within the costume design, married with the grunginess and rawness of the script leads the costume design into this territory of deception and revenge. This theoretical project was a lesson in layering collage style renderings with Procreate.
